Stopp the killings in Karachi
The killings in Karachi must be stopped immediately. The Gillani Government should do what ever it takes to get the job done. Nawaz Sharif and Pir Pagara have asked for the Army's takeover of the city. Maybe, it is too early yet. Anyways, the underlying problem is the control o0f the city. The MQMs control of Karachi is now being challenged by the ANP and PPP. Nothing wrong with that but the overall intolerance is now producing bloodshed. The political parties have to show some maturity and let them learn to accommodate each other. At least, not start killing others for political control of certain sections of the city. All three political parties are responsible for the mess. Meanwhile, the federal interior minister is blaming the Taliban. It is so convenient to lump it on the Taliban just like that. However, few believe him as he has lost credibility. A roundtable conference be called immediately to agree on a way out of the crisis situation. Pakistan's political parties are immature and cannot be relied upon to take this initiative. We are back to square one.
